Snow Shoe Hike

What?

Join us for a snow shoe hike in a beautiful winterlandscape in the swiss mountains. We plan a rather easy hike (4h walking time). We will choose the hike with the best snow conditions. You will get informed about the exact destination a couple of days before the trip.

When and where?

We meet on either Saturday or Sunday (16/17th of March) morning at Zurich HB to go for a snow shoe trip and return to Zurich in the late afternoon. Exact time schedule will follow.

Who can participate?

All D-INFK scientific staff (phds, postdocs, senior scientists, etc) and their +1’s. Please sign up in the doodle below if you intend to participate.

What to bring?

• ankle-high, sturdy, waterproof shoes (no sneakers nor gym shoes)
• warm enough clothes for an outdoor event in the mountains (jacket, gloves, hat, etc.)
• sunscreen and sun glasses
• your own lunch (food and drink, at least 1.5 liters)
• money, Halbtax/GA

Cost

You will have to pay for the transportation (30 - 50 CHF depending on the final choice of the location). If you don’t have a Halbtax yet, please get one for free from ETH. VMI sponsors the snow shoe rental costs and a drink after the trip.
